Abba's House | Unique Volunteer Opportunities

At the heart of the Abba's House ministry to refugees is a team of dedicated volunteers who pour into the guests who come to our ministry home. Much takes place on weekday mornings, as our volunteers work with the women on various life skills or with the children on age-appropriate learning and play. There are also evening and weekend opportunities to help them experience American life and orient to our culture. Whether you can serve one day every week or just once in a while, we need you in this ministry of hospitality and welcome!

CURRENT NEEDS: 

• jobs for refugees who are unemployed or underemployed
• used car donations for transportation to work
• low-cost living situations

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION & TRAINING REGISTRATION

Opportunities to serve: 

1. Weekday morning volunteers, Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 12 pm, to work with current guests on Life Skills or Children's Education. 
2. Every Monday-Wednesday at that time they need at least 1 volunteer working with their adult women and 1 volunteer working with their children
3. On Thursdays at 9 am, they need 1 volunteer to drive their guests to English Gateway classes to Bayou City Cypress campus, and another (or the same) volunteer to pick them up and drive them back to Abba's House at 11:30 am.

These are their consistent, weekly needs for volunteers, and they are in great need of more.
